Atkins wins flow assurance contract on Ichthys LNG project in Australia

LEATHERHEAD, UKAtkins has won a four-year flow assurance contract, worth AUD$19 million (US$17 million), for the INPEX-operated Ichthys project, located offshore Western Australia.

The project will take gas from the Ichthys field, in the Browse basin, to preliminary processing by offshore facilities. The gas will be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory, via an 889-km (552-mi) pipeline, and processed through an LNG plant.

Atkins’ scope of work for INPEX includes flow assurance, systems engineering, and ad-hoc process engineering support from the execution stage to initial startup.
