Real-time particle analysis now possible

Offshore staff

CAMBRIDGE, UK – A new particle analysis from Cambridge Consultants targets the oil and gas industry. The technology measures in real time the droplets of oil or particles of sand and wax in produced fluids offshore or at other remote locations.

The equipment uses optical measurements and signal processing techniques to measure the size distribution of droplets from submicron to 10s of microns in diameter at typical flow velocities, says Cambridge Consultants.

The hardware can be used online to send results to an operator to anticipate remediation.
