KAVALA, GreeceEnergean Oil & Gas has inaugurated a new drilling campaign offshore Greece.

The main aim is to increase production from the Prinos and Prinos North fields.

Energean has committed $60 million to the program, which involves drilling four wells in 2013 with the following objectives:

  • One injection well (PB-23) to increase pressure in the Prinos oil field
  • Two infill production wells (PB-34 and PB-37) in the Prinos field
  • One horizontal extended reach well (PNB-H4) in the Prinos North field.

The jackup GSP Fortuna should take six months to drill the wells, which are expected to increase production from the current 2,000 b/d to 4,500 b/d.

In 2014, Energean plans development drilling on the offshore Epsilon field.
