ConocoPhillips updates offshore Malaysia, North Sea field developments

Offshore staff

HOUSTON – ConocoPhillips says the Gumusut field floating production system is on station offshore Malaysia, with hook up and commissioning in progress.

Development also continues at Siakap North-Petai, with a main production module and accommodation unit lifted on site. Startup is expected late-2013, while Gumusut is expected to come online early next year.

Elsewhere in the Southeast Asia region, Kebabangan remains on track for startup in 2014 with jacket installation successfully completed and drilling under way.

In Europe, the company’s 2Q production was 173 MMboe/d, down 63 MMboe/d from the same period last year. This was partly due to downtime, with major turnarounds completed at the J-Area in the UK central North Sea and Ekofisk offshore Norway.

The Jasmine and Ekofisk South developments remain on schedule to start up this fall.
