Wood Group PSN presses ahead with North Sea Fyne studies

Offshore staff

MANCHESTER, UK – ABTechnology (ABT) has contracted Wood Group PSN to start pre-front-end engineering and FEED studies for the marginal Fyne oil field in the UK North Sea.

According to ABT’s joint venture partner Enegi, these studies will facilitate an amended development plan for Fyne, and a submission of the environmental statement to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change.

The studies will refine ABT’s generic production buoy design to incorporate Fyne field’s requirements. Work is expected to be completed in the fall.

Field operator Antrim previously worked on the subsea design when examining alternate production solutions. These will be incorporated into the revised plan.
