PGS, TGS return to complete seismic data collection offshore eastern Canada

Offshore staff

LONDON – Petroleum Geo-Services and TGS have returned to East Canada for the third year to complete a 2D multi-client seismic survey. The 2013 program will acquire 16,000 line km (9,942 mi) of the Northeast Newfoundland Slope.

Final processed data from this year will be available in spring 2014 and will bring the survey to a total of 46,000 line km (28,583 mi).

Statoil’s Mizzen discovery and the recent oil discovery in the Flemish Pass basin at its Harpoon indicate the production potential north of the Jeanne d’Arc basin offshore eastern Canada
