Statoil to drill again in Barents Sea

OSLO, Norway -- The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized Statoil Petroleum to drill a wildcat well in the Barents Sea.

The West Hercules will drill well 7220/5-2 in production license 532, which comprises blocks 7219/9, 7220/4, 7220/5, 7220/7, and 7220/8.

This will be the fourth exploratory well on the concession, awarded under Norway’s 20th licensing round in 2009.
