SMD delivers subsea plow to Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical

ABERDEEN, UK – Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd. has made early delivery to Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical Ltd. of an HD3 cable plow.

Reef Subsea has named the plow HDIA for heavy-duty inter-array plow and will mobilize the equipment onto the Polar Prince subsea construction vessel.

The cable plow can be towed with as much as 150 metric tons (165 tons) in consolidated soils, has on-board jetting to boost sand performance, and has subsea loading and unloading capabilities. It can cut a trench at shallow trench depths of 1-1.5 m (3.28-5 ft) and as deep as 2.4 m (7.8 ft).
