Offshore staff

KHORRAMSHAHR, Iran – Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) has loaded out the SPD 20 jacket for a platform for the South Pars Phase 20 development offshore Iran.

The 67-m (220-ft) high structure and its accessories, weighing 3,300 tons, were transferred to a transportation barge from the construction site in Khorramshahr Yard. It was then due to head out to the South Pars field.

It will be installed at a location 115 km (71 mi) from Asalouyeh in a water depth of 61 m (200 ft). IOEC has devised a procedure that cuts the time required for transfer and installation of marine structures from 19 to 11 days, said managing director Ali Taheri Motlagh.

He added that 4,000 people are working in six Khorramshahr yards on the remaining South Pars jackets.
