Offshore staff

OSLO, Norway – Wintershall has approval from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic will drill well 6407/1-6 S in production license 475 after completing its current program for Lundin Norway in PL 490.

The location is about 10 km (6.2 mi) northeast of the Statoil-operated Tyrihans oil and gas/condensate field on the Haltenbanken.

This will be the first well on PL 475, which was awarded under Norway’s APA 2007 licensing round.
