Proserv supplying controls for Cygnus platforms

Offshore staff

ABERDEEN, UK – AMEC has contracted Proserv to supply topside control equipment for GDF SUEZ’s Cygnus gas field development in the UK southern North Sea.

Proserv will be responsible for design, engineering and construction, of wellhead control panels and associated topside umbilical termination units for the Alpha and Bravo platforms.

Six of the 10 development wells for both platforms will be controlled by the initial panel design. Proserv controls specialists in Great Yarmouth, England will be involved.

The production platform will use an umbilical to provide fiber optic communication and utilities to the Bravo wellhead platform, with Proserv also providing topside termination panels for the utilities.

The subsea export pipeline will incorporate a subsea isolation valve, which is controlled from the production platform, with Proserv supplying the topside umbilical termination unit.

Equipment is due for delivery in 2013/14.
