Bibby acquires North Sea specialist dive vessel

Offshore staff

ABERDEEN, UK – Bibby Offshore has exercised an option to assume ownership of the dive support vessel (DSV) Toisa Polaris

The company took the vessel on a two-year time charter in January, with a pre-agreed purchase option as part of the deal with Toisa Ltd.

It took delivery in Stavanger earlier this week and has renamed the vessel Bibby Polaris.

Bibby describes the vessel, which has been in service since 1999, as one of a small number of high specification DP-3 North Sea class DSVs.

Bibby Ship Management will provide the marine crew, which will lead to creation of about 60 offshore positions.
