Talisman tackles Yme platform grouting defects

Offshore staff

MONACO – Talisman Energy (TSX:TLM) and SBM Offshore (AMS:SBMO) have presented a plan to Petroleum Safety Authority Norway concerning the Yme jackup platform in the North Sea.

This follows Talisman’s decision to de-man the newly built platform and to repair grouting in the legs. The repairs should be completed before the end of the year.

Post-completion, personnel will be allowed back onto the platform to inspect the consequences of the installation. Subsequently, Talisman and SBM Offshore expect to agree on a plan forward for the platform.

Continuing issues concerning the construction are delaying startup of the redeveloped Yme field.
