Lundin secures HP/HT kit for Norway wells

Offshore staff

LONDON – Plexus Holdings has won a £2-million ($3.2-million) contract to supply its high-pressure/high-temperature POS-GRIP technology wellhead equipment to Lundin Norway.

The equipment is for a two-well exploration program offshore Norway due to follow completion of the current Skagen well, operated by Lotos Exploration and Production Norge. This, too, uses Plexus’ POS-GRIP wellhead kit.

Drilling of the first of Lundin’s wells, 8/5-1 Ogna, should start in January 2013, followed immediately by the 7/4-3 Carlsberg well. Both wells will use POS-GRIP 18-¾-in. 15,000-psi (1,034-bar) HP/HT wellhead equipment at a variety of pressures.
