Transocean hit with preliminary injunction to cease operations in Brazil

HOUSTON – Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG) reports the federal court in Rio de Janeiro has served the company with a preliminary injunction requiring that it cease operations in Brazil within 30 days.

Transocean is pursuing an overturn or suspension of the preliminary injunction, including an appeal to the Superior Court of Justice.

Without the suspension or overturn, Transocean says it will comply with the preliminary injunction.
