LONDON – The jackup Atwood Mako has started development drilling from the Bualuang Alpha platform in the Gulf of Thailand.

Salamander Energy (LSE:SMDR) has taken the rig on a long-term contract, starting with the short development program on the B8/38 license. It will then drill two exploration prospects in the Greater Bualuang area ahead of an extended development drilling campaign from the Bualuang Bravo platform from end-October.
