SINGAPORE – Keppel Shipyard has won contracts worth a total of S$170 million ($135 million) to upgrade two FPSOs.

For SBM Offshore, the yard will upgrade the FPSO Xikomba, for redeployment for Eni offshore Angola on block 15/06. The scope covers life extension, refurbishment and upgrades of existing topside modules and turret mooring system, and installation and integration of new topside modules.

Work should be completed by summer 2013, after which the vessel will sail to Angola for completion. FPSO Xikomba is jointly owned by SBM Offshore and Sonangol.

The second contract involves modifying and upgrading Bumi Armada’s FPSO Armada Claire for deployment on Apache’s Balnaves field off northwest Australia. Work includes refurbishment and life extension works, and installation and integration of topside modules. The program starts this summer and should be completed late in 2013.
