Blocked pipeline halts operations offshore Oman

Offshore staff

OSLO, Norway – DNO International has had to shut in production from two fields in block 8 offshore Oman.

A blockage occurred in the pipeline between the Bukha and West Bukha production platforms during routine pigging operations. Investigations are under way to resolve the situation, but the facilities could be out of service for four weeks.

Drilling continues on the West Bukha-5 development well, which has reached a depth of 4,213 m (13,822 ft), 200 m (656 ft) above the top of the target Thamama reservoir.

DNO plans to install a 7-in. (17.8-cm) liner and drill a 600-m (1,968-ft) horizontal section in the Thamama.
