Further Santos basin well test under way

Offshore staff

RIO DE JANEIRO – The FPSO BW Cidade de São Vicente has started a new well test in the pre-salt Santos basin off Brazil.

Well RJS-647 is in a water depth of 2,212 m (7,257 ft) in the Iracema area (block BM-S-11).

The FPSO will operate in the area for approximately six months, gathering technical data on reservoir behavior and oil flow in the subsea lines.

During the initial test phase the well should produce at a facilities-restricted flow rate of around 10,000 b/d of oil.

The information will support development of the final production system in the area, expected to be in operations by end-2014 with the installation of the 150,000 b/d FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba.

Petrobras is operator, in partnership with BG Group and Petrogal.
