BG puts oil well on test in deepwater offshore Brazil

READING, UK – BG Group (BRGYY.PK:OCQX) has started a new well test program off Brazil in the BM-S-11 presalt Santos basin concession. The well is flowing into the Cidade de São Vicente FPSO in 2,212 m (7,257 ft) water depth.

The FPSO will operate in the area for about six months gathering information about the RJS-647 well. During this initial test the well is expected to produce at around 10,000 b/d of oil constrained by facilities.

Once the final production system is in place by the end of 2014, wells will flow into the Cidade de Mangaratiba FPSO with its 150,000 b/d of oil capacity.

BG Group has a 25% interest in block BM-S-11, with operator Petrobras holding 65% and Petrogal Brasil S.A. 10%.
