Talisman expands North Sea support options

ABERDEEN, UK – Talisman Energy has contracted North Star Shipping to build two new platform supply vessels to support the company’s North Sea operations.

The two IMT-982 design vessels will be 83 m (272 ft) long with an 18-m (59-ft) beam and will feature diesel-electric propulsion systems for improved fuel economy and efficiency. They have been designed to meet Talisman’s North Sea requirements.

Both will be built at the Balenciaga Shipyard in northern Spain and should be delivered in 2Q and 4Q 2013.
