Petrobras awaits bids on production modules for eight FPSOs

Offshore staff

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras expects as much as $7 billion in bids to complete eight offshore platforms for use in the Santos basin, according to reports from Brazil.

The tenders will cover modules and integration of FPSOs for presalt production operations. The hulls are under construction in Brazil and the next contract is to install and integrate production modules onto these hulls.

The FPSOs all are the same in order to reduce both cost and construction time. The FPSOs are destined for Petrobras’ operated BM-S-9 and BM-S-11 blocks in the Santos basin.

Partners include BG Group, Galp Energia, and Repsol YPF.
