LUXEMBOURG – Total E&P Norge has awarded Subsea 7 a $75-million subsea umbilical riser and flowline (SURF) contract for the Atla (ex-David) field development in the central Norwegian North Sea.

The scope includes management, engineering, procurement, and installation of a 7-km (4.3-mi), 9.3-in. (23.6-cm) flexible flowline between Atla and the Byggve Tee on the existing pipeline between Byggve and Heimdal, 20 km (12.4 mi) to the southwest.

Subsea 7 will also install a 7-km umbilical between the Atla Production Guide Base (PGB) and the Byggve PGB, and perform survey, tie-in and precommissioning activities and other services.

Offshore operations should start next spring, using various Subsea 7 pipelay and construction vessels.
