PARIS – Maersk Oil North Sea has awarded Technip a $54.7-million contract for the Gryphon Area reinstatement program in the UK North Sea.
This follows an incident earlier in 2011, when storm damage to the Gryphon field facilities caused a disconnection of the FPSO from its moorings.
Gryphon is 320 km (199 mi) north-east of Aberdeen in 110 m (361 ft) of water.
The contract covers installation of 15 dynamic risers, two dynamic and two static umbilicals, 11 flexible flowlines, and associated subsea equipment.
Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen will perform the work, which should be completed by mid-2012. Vessels to be used for the campaign will include Skandi Arctic and Wellservicer.
