North Sea platform utility area fire suppressed

STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil says fire broke out yesterday afternoon in an air compressor compartment on its Huldra platform in the North Sea, west of Mongstad.

The incident was swiftly dealt with. None of the 19 people on the platform at the time were injured, the company adds.

Statoil mobilized its emergency response organization and alerted the public rescue service.
