LUXEMBOURG – ONGC has contracted Subsea 7 for installation and commissioning of the G1 field subsea production facilities off eastern India, as part of the G-1 and GS-15 fields development.

The project involves transporting and installing flexible flowlines and umbilicals to the G1 field in the Krishna-Godavari Basin Bay. The location is 20 km (12.4 mi) off the Amalapuram coast in water depths ranging from 205-440 m (672-1,443 ft).

Subsea 7’s scope comprises project management and engineering; pre-installation site clearance; mob/demob of hook-up related installation tools, including the acceptance, load-out, tie-down and transportation of ONGC free- issued materials; and installation of the flexible flowlines and umbilicals.

Work will be performed by one of the company’s deepwater construction vessels in late 2011.
