TURKU, Finland -- Saipem has contracted STX Finland’s Turku shipyard for a major overhaul/maintenance program on the semisubmersible pipelay vessel Castoro Sei.

However, the 50/50 joint venture agreement concerning Arctech Helsinki Shipyard between STX Finland and United Shipbuilding Corporation has been formally closed.

Arctech acquired this yard from STX Finland, and will focus on arctic maritime technology and shipbuilding. It has an order from Russian contractor Sovcomflot for two multipurpose icebreaking supply vessels.
