Total prepares for Barents Sea probe

OSLO, Norway -- Total E&P Norge will drill a well in the Barents Sea following clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Well 7225/3-1 will be drilled by the West Phoenix in production license 535, roughly 300 km (186 mi) northeast of Hammerfest.

This will be the first well on the concession, awarded under Norway’s 20th licensing round, which comprises blocks 7225/3 and 7226/1.
