Toshiba relocates hydro business to Charlotte, N.C.

Toshiba moves hydro offices

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) has relocated its hydro business unit to Charlotte, N.C., from Littleton, Colo.

According to a press release, “The transition allows the company to more effectively leverage its shared corporate resources, and co-locating the hydro staff will also minimize travel and other costs associated with operating two offices.”

“We are pleased to be adding to the great talent we already have on site in our Charlotte office,” said TAES President and Chief Executive Officer Ali Azad.

TAES is a fully integrated provider of turbine/generator equipment and services for the power generation industry in the Americas, including thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants. TAES was formed in 2015 through the integration of several legacy Toshiba businesses.

In June, HydroWorld.com reported that TAES was awarded a $17.8 million contract to refurbish equipment and control systems at three Bureau of Reclamation facilities.
