Hydro Equipment Association announces dissolution

HEA dissolving

The Hydro Equipment Association announced it is dissolving after operating for 15 years.

In a statement, HEA President Dr. Roland Muench and Managing Director Christine van Oldeneel said: “In the last 15 years HEA has contributed actively to the positioning of hydropower as one of the most efficient, flexible and reliable energy source[s] among all renewables.”

The statement says the board of directors decided to dissolve the association.

HEA full members represented Andritz Hydro, GE and Voith. Associated members represented Global Hydro, Litostroj Power, Mavel, Mecamidi, Stellba Hydro, Tamanini Hydro, Vaptech, MJ2 Technologies and Wasserkraft.

HEA released a Global Technology Roadmap in late 2015 discussing how manufacturers of equipment used in hydropower facilities are focusing on four key areas to continue to propel hydro forward as a reliable source of electricity.
