A.W. Chesterton inaugurates training and repair center, lab

Chesterton training center

A.W. Chesterton Co. today unveiled its expanded facilities, which include a valve emissions testing facility, industrial training center and industrial equipment service location.

The industrial equipment training facility is designed to provide training for plant engineers and plant maintenance staff from a variety of industries, including hydropower, commercial water, and oil and gas. “A platform of intensive training programs is designed to help Chesterton customers build and retain much-needed critical workforce skills at a time when many companies are facing a looming shortage of skilled workers due to retiring experts, an inability to attract new talent, and the loss of in-plant training programs,” the company says.

This facility provides the ability to test valves up to 12 inches in diameter, primarily for the oil and gas and chemical sectors.

The new facility contains hands-on equipment laboratories for pumps, valves and hydraulic-pneumatic equipment, as well as coatings applications and lubrication best practices, according to a press release.

The expansion also includes a New England Service Center to provide mechanical seals, pump and cylinders repairs, among other capabilities. The company already operates service centers in Louisiana and Houston.

A.W. Chesterton operates in more than 100 countries, providing solutions, customized programs, and service for rotary, stationary and field power equipment platforms. This work is supported by a line of industrial fluid sealing systems, protective coatings and industrial lubrication, the company says.
