Professional development hours available for Waterpower Week in Washington

National Hydropower Association

Waterpower Week in Washington is home to the 2016 National Hydropower Association’s annual conference, and conference attendees are eligible to receive 14 professional development hours.

Scheduled for April 25-27 at the Capital Hilton Hotel, Waterpower Week in Washington features three events under one roof: NHA annual conference, International Marine Renewable Energy Conference (IMREC) and the Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS).

This is the second year IMREC and METS will be co-located with the conference.

This is also the perfect opportunity for you to increase your hours of hydro industry professional development. Instructions on how to access the official certificate of completion will automatically be emailed to all attendees following the NHA annual conference.

Some of the scheduled sessions and events include the following:

  • Plenary Session: Strengthening our Economy and Protecting our Future;
  • Session: NHA Legislative Update and Outlook -- 2016;
  • Session: Building the Future Hydro Workforce -- Recruitment Insights;
  • Session: Communicating and Elevating Hydropower’s Message;
  • Session: Aging Civil Infrastructure – Solving a $21 Billion Problem; and
  • Event: NHA Past Presidents' Legacy Scholarship Fund Silent Auction.

During three days of informative seminars, informational meetings and structured social events, attendees have the opportunity to both share their great knowledge and grow, as they learn the latest information within the hydroelectric power industry.

Hydroelectric project owners, operators, scientists, academia, financiers/insurers and Washington D.C.-based government officials signify a few examples of who will attend NHA’s annual event.

Past attendees say networking is one of the most important benefits gained from their personal interaction with industry leaders and the concentration of people who work at all levels of decision-making in the hydroelectric policy-making process.
