Previously, Wehnhardt was in charge of the Order to Cash division, covering operations, project management and purchasing. Wehnhardt has been with Voith since 2007, when he joined Voith Paper Rolls GmbH & Co. KG as executive vice president in charge of the European market. Before that he worked for Alfred Karcher GmbH & Co. KG and Procter & Gamble.
Munch has worked for Voith since 2002, joining Voith Paper as executive vice president. Before that he worked for the ABB Group.
The new group will focus on the development of new digital business models for sectors that already exist, as well as for new sectors that are not yet being served, according to a press release. For example, expertise related to automation, software, IT, digitization and sensor technology (currently covered by Voith Hydro, Voith Paper and Voith Turbo) will be consolidated and refined in the new division. In addition, all venture and start-up activities in the digital realm will be relocated to the new division. It starts with about 600 employees and about €250 million (US$273 million) in existing business, Voith says.
