US$52.4 million stake in 108-MW Leidatan hydroelectric facility diversifies portfolio

Jiangsu Chengxing Phosph-Chemicals Company Ltd. announced it acquired a 55% stake for US$52.4 million in the 108-MW Leidatan hydroelectric facility located downstream of Nanpan River, Mile County in Honghe Autonomous Prefectures, Yunnan Province in the People’s Republic of China.

Leidatan Hydropower Plant Company Ltd. operates the facility as a subsidiary of Jiangyin Chengxing Industrial Group Company Ltd. and Leidatan is connected to the Yunnan Power Grid, an integrated part of the South China Power Grid.

Published reports indicate Chengxing Industrial Group purchased the facility in an effort to diversify its energy portfolio by adding hydropower generation.
