U.S. seeks firms for governor replacement at up to four hydro projects

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to replace governor systems at up to four hydroelectric projects in the southeastern U.S. Responses are due June 30.

In a sources sought notice, the Corps' Mobile District seeks to determine the availability of qualified contractors to design, manufacture, deliver, install and test complete hydroelectric digital governor systems and control systems and retrofitted hydroelectric mechanical-to-digital governor control systems. It plans to use responses to determine the appropriate solicitation.

Work would be performed at the 68-MW Jones Bluff project and the 90-MW Millers Ferry project in Alabama. There also would be an option for similar work at the 73.4-MW West Point project in Georgia and the 43.5-MW Jim Woodruff project in Florida.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127815L0025 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
