Centroamerica Hydropower Plant

Nicaragua utility Empresa Nicaraguense de Electricidad (Enel) seeks bids to supply plant equipment for rehabilitation of the 50-MW Centroamerica and 50-MW Carlos Fonseca hydroelectric projects on Nicaragua's Viejo River. Bids are due June 25.

Honduras-based GeoConsult SA de C.V. won a contract in 2012 to supervise construction of a bypass system at Centroamerica.

Enel now seeks bids to supply and commission plant elements including substation equipment; auxiliary equipment; system protection; governors; 10.5-kV, 480-V and 24.9-kV bars; electrical panels; control and automation; communication; cooling system; fire system; valves; instrumentation; and headworks gates.

Tender documents in digital form, in Spanish, may be obtained until June 24 from the Enel Internet site, www.enel.gob.ni, under Adquisiciones; from the Nicaragua purchasing website, www.nicaraguacompra.gob.ni; or from the address below.
