The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has scheduled a site visit for firms interested in performing winding replacement of the Unit 3 turbine-generator at the 402-MW Dworshak Dam hydroelectric project in Idaho. The site visit is scheduled June 2 with a solicitation expected to be issued in mid-May.
The Corps' Walla Walla District last year requested information on firms able to perform the windings replacement as well as cavitation repair of Dworshak Unit 3. It called for bids in May to supply circuit breakers and capacitors and in April for oil filtration systems for Dworshak on the North Fork Clearwater River.
The Walla Walla District now seeks bids to disassemble Unit 3, provide and install a new stator core and winding, and reassemble and commission the unit. The work is expected to cost between $10 million and $25 million.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF15R0019 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box. The site visit is scheduled June 2.
