U.S. seeks governor installation at nine Northwest hydro plants

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to install new digital governors at nine Corps hydroelectric projects in the Corps' Portland and Walla Walla districts. Bids are due May 15.

The Portland District previously said it planned to issue an unrestricted solicitation for governor installation at eight Corps projects in the region. In 2014, it solicited information on firms able to perform such work in the Portland, Seattle and Walla Walla districts in order to determine the type of solicitation to be issued. The government previously purchased governor retrofit kits to convert mechanical governors to digital governors.

The Portland District now seeks bids for an indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity multiple award task order contract for installation of up to 30 government-furnished digital governors at nine powerhouses in the two districts. The magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1 million with a shared multiple award task order contract capacity of $11 million.
