The National Hydropower Association is pleased to announce the addition of Congressman Paul Tonko and White House adviser Cristin Dorgelo as speakers during the upcoming NHA Annual Conference, making the event's opening plenary session a can't-miss opportunity.

This pair of dynamic speakers will address a number of topics, with a particular emphasis on hydroelectric power's value in today's energy market.

Rep. Tonko, currently serving his fourth term as representative for New York's 20th Congressional District, serves on the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The committee has the broadest authority of any committee in the House, including jurisdiction over America's energy policy.

He is also co-chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) and honorary vice-chair of the Alliance to Save Energy.

Meanwhile, Dorgelo -- Chief of Staff for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) -- helps facilitate policy development and implementation across a broad spectrum of issues.

She has previously served as Assistant Director for Grand Challenges at OSTP, developing programs and working with other federal agencies to incentivize public engagement in solving technological problems.

The National Hydropower Association Annual Conference takes place April 27-29 in Washington, D.C., at the Capital Hilton.

This year's conference also features the inaugural International Marine Renewable Energy Conference (IMREC) and third-annual Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS), which are being presented simultaneously by NHA's new Marine Energy Council.
