Paul Schweiger ASDSO

The Association of State Dam Safety Officials has recognized Paul G. Schweiger as the recipient of the 2015 ASDSO President's Award.

Schweiger, a vice-president and manager of Gannett Fleming's Dams and Hydraulics Section in Harrisburg, Pa., was selected based on his dedication to promoting dam safety and instruction through ASDSO's technical training program.

"Paul is someone you can always count on," ASDSO President Tom Woosley said. " He clearly has a passion for dam safety and represents himself, Gannett Fleming, and this association."

Schweiger, who holds a master of science in civil engineering from the University of New Brunswick, is a registered professional engineer in nine states and a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)-certified Potential Failure Modes Analysis facilitator.

Schweiger has provided engineering services for more than 440 dams and authored more than 50 professional papers on design, safety and rehabilitation throughout his 30-year career, and he is currently a member of the United States Society on Dams and a technical advisor for the Natural Resources Conservation Services Study Work Group.
