Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro seeks bids for crane and hoist inspection and repair services for its hydroelectric projects in Manitoba. Bids are due Feb. 4.
Manitoba Hydro took bids in January for electrical design engineering services including work on low-head hydroelectric projects. It previously took bids for consulting engineering services to its hydropower and other operations and for inspection of equipment manufacturing at the 695-MW Keeyask hydroelectric project.
The utility said it requires periodic service in the areas of crane inspection, repair, engineering consultation, condition assessment, component replacement and modernization to support more than 400 cranes and hoists at its generating plants and HVDC facilities. It expects to issue a one-year contract beginning in March with two option years.
