Afghans seek spare parts, consumables for 100-MW Naghlu hydro project

Afghanistan national utility Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) seeks bids to supply spare parts and consumables for the 100-MW Naghlu hydroelectric project, which is being rehabilitated on Afghanistan's Kabul River. Bids are due January 3, 2015.

DABS recruited consultants in October to provide operations and maintenance training for staff of Naghlu. It also took bids in October to supply poles, conductors, distribution transformers and cables for electrification of Sarobi around the Naghlu hydro plant.

Since 2006, the World Bank has been financing the rehabilitation of electrical and electro-mechanical parts of the Naghlu project, which was built with help from the Soviet Union in the 1960s.

DABS now seeks bids for supply of spare parts and consumables for the hydro project rehabilitation. Tender documents, in English, may be obtained by e-mail request to the addresses below.
