Serbia extends call for electro-mechanical equipment to refurbish eight small hydro projects

Serbia utility Elektroprivreda Srbije has extended the deadline for bids to supply and install electro-mechanical equipment for reconstruction of eight small hydroelectric projects totaling 9.79 MW. Bids now are due January 23, 2015.

Elektroprivreda Srbije previously called for bids by December 3. Serbia's Ministry of Finance also invited applications for pre-qualification by December 12 to perform an inventory of small hydropower projects and sites. Serbia's energy ministry developed a National Action Plan for Renewable Energy to increase green power sources to 27 percent of the country's overall mix by 2020 from 21 percent.  

With funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Elektroprivreda is implementing a small hydropower program to rehabilitate a total of 15 small hydro projects and to construct two new small hydro projects at existing dams. Elektroprivreda now seeks bids to supply and install electro-mechanical equipment for reconstruction of eight small hydropower projects. The projects and equipment to be supplied include:

  • 6.4-MW Raska, near Novi Pazar, replace two units and install two new pumps at Sopocani pumping station;
  • 60-kW Vrelo, near Bajina Basta, install new unit, replace generator;
  • 250-kW Radaljska Banja, near Zvornik, replace turbine;
  • 900-kW Seljasnica, near Prijepolje, replace two units;
  • 1.4-MW Kratovska Reka, near Priboj, replace two units;
  • 300-kW Pod Gradom, near Uzice, install new unit
  • 320-kW Turica, near Uzice, replace two units;
  • 160-kW Moravica, near Ivanjica, install new unit.

Procurement also includes reconstruction or modification of auxiliary equipment such as gates, valves, transformers, cranes, penstock, governors, controls, etc.
