Pakistan seeks transformer fire protection for 3,480-MW Tarbela hydro project

Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids to supply a generator transformer fire protection system for Units 11-14 of the 3,480-MW Tarbela hydroelectric project on the Indus River. Bids are due December 17.

WAPDA previously called for bids by November 27 to supply capacitance-coupled voltage transformers (CCVT) for switchyard Units 11-14 in a program of repair and upgrade of the Tarbela project.

The agency also has been recruiting firms for project preparation and design of the 1,300-MW Tarbela Dam 5th Extension hydro project. It awarded a contract in November to SMEC of Australia for monitoring and evaluation services for the 1,410-MW Tarbela Dam 4th Extension hydropower project.

WAPDA now seeks bids for procurement of a generator transformer fire protection system for Units 11-14 of the Tarbela power station. The system is to include deluge valves and gate valves.
