Pakistan seeks transformer fire protection for 3,480-MW Tarbela hydro project

Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids to supply a generator transformer fire protection system for Units 11-14 of the 3,480-MW Tarbela hydroelectric project on the Indus River. Bids are due December 17.

WAPDA previously called for bids by November 27 to supply capacitance-coupled voltage transformers (CCVT) for switchyard Units 11-14 in a program of repair and upgrade of the Tarbela project.

The agency also has been recruiting firms for project preparation and design of the 1,300-MW Tarbela Dam 5th Extension hydro project. It awarded a contract in November to SMEC of Australia for monitoring and evaluation services for the 1,410-MW Tarbela Dam 4th Extension hydropower project.

WAPDA now seeks bids for procurement of a generator transformer fire protection system for Units 11-14 of the Tarbela power station. The system is to include deluge valves and gate valves.

Tender documents may be obtained until noon December 16 from the addresses below for 1,000 rupees (US$10) submitted by pay order or bank draft to Manager Finance (Hydel), WAPDA Lahore, payable at M/s Habib Bank Ltd., Gardee Square Branch, Lahore, Account No. 1030-59 or Chief Engineer (Power), WAPDA, Tarbela Dam, payable at M/s Habib Bank Ltd., G.I.K.I.
