American Municipal Power, which is currently developing several hydro projects, recently named Scott Kiesewetter senior vice president of generation operations and Christopher Easton vice president of business operations.

Kiesewetter has worked for AMP since 1992 in a variety of engineering and supervisory roles. He will be a member of the executive management team and oversee all functions of the power generation group, including all generation resources. Before joining AMP,

Kiesewetter worked for Philadelphia Electric Co. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio State University.

“Scott is extremely well-qualified for this position,” said Marc Gerken, president and chief executive officer of AMP. “Scott is a recognized team player, well respected for his talent, knowledge and commitment to AMP and our members.”

Easton has 30 years of experience with municipal electric system management through a career with the city of Wadsworth, Ohio. He retired from the city in July 2013. Easton has been a member of the AMP board of trustees for 10 years. In this position, he will coordinate AMP’s strategic planning effort, manage facilities and various programs, and perform program analysis.

“Chris Easton is clearly the right person for the job,” Gerken said. “Chris has the knowledge and experience needed for this new position. He is well-respected by his peers and understands both the industry and the organization.”

AMP is a nonprofit organization in wholesale power supply for municipal electric systems. The company owns and/or operates facilities totaling more than 1,400 MW in generation capacity, including hydro.

AMP is constructing four hydro facilities on the Ohio River to further diversify its members’ generation portfolios and increase the use of renewable generation in the region. These include 72-MW Smithland Locks and Dam, 84-MW Cannelton Locks and Dam, 105-MW Meldahl Locks and Dam and 40-MW Willow Island Locks and Dam.
