Corps seeks firms for planning, design of civil construction works

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on small firms able to perform planning and design for civil construction works in the Corps' Mobile District. Responses are due Nov. 20.

The Mobile District sought information in August on firms able to perform emergency inspection, rehabilitation and replacement of hydroelectric turbines, generators, and pump motors in Corps facilities throughout the continental United States. The district also sought firms this month for gantry crane load testing at 43.5-MW Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam and took bids in October for replacement stator components at Carters Pumped-Storage facility, part of the 600-MW Carters Dam hydroelectric project.

In a sources sought notice, the Mobile District now seeks information on small businesses able to provide architect-engineer services to support planning and design of civil works in the Mobile District area of the southeastern United States as well as possible assignments in Central and South America. Responses are to be used to make acquisition decisions.

The Corps anticipates issuing and indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract for work including preliminary studies through complete project feasibility report development, engineering design, and detailed construction plans and specifications.
