The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to fabricate and supply intake gate roller chains for three major hydroelectric projects on the Snake and Columbia rivers. Bids now are due Oct. 14.
The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by Oct. 3. It solicited information in March on firms able to perform the work. The projects include 810-MW Lower Granite Dam and 810-MW Lower Monumental Dam on the Snake River in Washington and 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River in Oregon.
In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps now seeks bids to fabricate and supply intake roller gate chains to the three projects. Each roller chain assembly consists of hundreds of rollers, shafts, side bars and retaining rings, to be produced at a rate of one chain assembly every three weeks.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF14R0019 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
