Swiss utility Viteos SA seeks bids to supply turbine-generators for the Serrieres hydroelectric project on the Serrieres River at Neuchatel. Bids are due November 14.

Hydro Exploitation SA took bids in September to replace a mini-hydropower turbine-generator downstream of the 27-MW Bramois hydroelectric project on the Rhone River in Switzerland. Equipment manufacturer Alstom announced contracts in May to modernize two hydropower projects in Switzerland's Canton Glarus and Canton Valais.

To increase generation of renewable energy while improving the environment, Viteos, a regional supplier of water, gas and electricity, announced in 2012 that it would consolidate hydropower generation at a single site on the Serrieres, closing two upstream plants.

Viteos now seeks bids for design, supply, installation and commissioning of hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment for the Serrieres hydroelectric project. The work is expected to be performed between January and November 2015.

Tender documents may be obtained via the Swiss procurement Internet site under http://www.simap.ch/shabforms/servlet/Search?NOTICE_NR=837373. Questions may be submitted through October 24.

Bids, in French and English, are due by 11 a.m. November 14. For information, contact Claudio Picchi, Viteos SA Service de Production, Quai Max-Petitpierre 4, 2000 Neuchatel, Switzerland; E-mail: claudio.picchi@viteos.ch; Internet: www.viteos.ch.
