Lower Monumental Hydropower Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to refurbish thrust bearing shoes at 810-MW Lower Monumental and 603-MW Ice Harbor dams on the Snake River in Washington. Bids are due June 30.

The Corps' Walla Walla District requested information in May on firms able to perform the work. The contractor is to inspect and refurbish one set of 12 shoes at each project by removing existing babbitt, pouring new babbitt, machining babbitt including provision of oil supply grooves and machining of the shoe backside.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912EF14R0022 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
