Panama seeks developers for hydro projects on Piedra, Chico, Santa Maria rivers

Panama's public service authority invites applications for pre-qualification for a concession to develop hydropower plants on three rivers in Panama. Applications for pre-qualification are due May 23, with bids due June 13.

Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos (ASEP) seeks to pre-qualify bidders for a concession to develop hydropower on the Piedra River in Chiriqui Province, Chico River in Cocle Province and Santa Maria River in Veraguas Province. The Inter-American Development Bank approved a US$20 million rural electrification loan to Panama in April that could include hydropower.

Pre-qualification documents are due by delivery or e-mail to the address below until 3:30 p.m. May 23. Bids are due June 13.
